Reviews: Kill Joy (9)
“perfect whodunnit without actual murder.”

firstly let me just say, I'v come into this series cold. I figured i would start with the prequel and go from there. I loved it! It gives me 'clue' vibes. I do feel like pip had the right of it, it makes sense when she puts it all together but i still loved it. I really liked all the characters. They felt so real, especially when they are playing at their characters for the murder mystery. The interactions between them all just made you feel like you were there with a group of teenagers. Brilliant. Can't wait to read the rest of the series now.
“A lovely addition to the series”
(Paperback)
by Alice Warburton from Manchester Deansgate
This prequel to A Good Girl's Guide to Murder is a really good addition to the series, especially if you're reading it (like I did) after completing the trilogy. It was lovely to delve back into the characters, and see their relationships previous to the storyline. Despite being so short, this novella still builds tension. The ending is almost eerie (if you have read the series you'll understand why!). I loved it!
“Fast-paced, suspenseful thriller that pulls you in from the very first page.”
(Paperback)
by Sophie from Waterstones Swindon
Kill Joy by Holly Jackson is a fast-paced, suspenseful thriller that pulls you in from the very first page. The plot is clever, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you on edge, and the characters are well-developed and relatable. Jackson's writing is sharp and engaging, and the mystery unfolds at a steady pace, leading to a satisfying (if slightly unpredictable) conclusion. While the story is gripping, there are moments where it feels a bit predictable, and I would have liked a little more depth in the emotional arcs of the characters. Still, it’s a thrilling read with plenty of suspense and intrigue that will keep fans of mystery and psychological thrillers hooked.
