Just Between Us by Adele Parks is a fascinating read about Kylie Gillingham who is lost, missing,murdered. It is also known since her disappearance that she is a bigamist married with two husbands.DCI Clemente’s is investigating her disappearance. Stacie Jones lives a quiet life in a small village,protected by her father while she recovers from a brain tumour. What do Kylie and Stacie have in common. Who is really responsible for Kylie’s disappearance and will it be her step sons who find out the truth? A riveting read and it isn’t until the very end of the story you find out the answers. Highly recommended and very enjoyable.

What can I say other than, it was so good I couldn’t put it down ! The way the characters all come together with different lifestyles is so clever . You wonder where it’s going but obviously it’s all sorted by the end . I felt the characters so believable ( as if being married to 2 men is acceptable, but works!) I love all Adele Parks books and this doesn’t disappoint . Look forward to her next one

Set in the heart of the Covid Pandemic Stacie Jones and moved back from France and lives with her father Kenneth. She is recovering from Cancer and has a loss of memory. But she senses that her father is holding something back from her. She also wonders why her father would take on the task of looking after her. She has troubled dreams where there are two boys. But she does not have children of her own. When she meets a retired woman in a wheelchair on a beach on Lyme Regis. Supposed to be her old schoolteacher that she has no recollection of. The woman tells her that she has never met her before, and she is not Stacie Jones. This raises a lot of questions which starts her on a journey to find the truth. Leigh is a bigamist and has disappeared presumed dead and has left two husbands. Mark with sons Oli and Seb and has after 4 short months shacked up with Leigh’s best friend Fiona. There is Dan who is rich and charismatic and is accused of the murder of Leigh. He secretly involving Chat and messengers contacted the two boys to see if they can find any evidence to clear his name. Thank you, HQ, for a copy of Adele Parks Latest offering. Just between us by Adele Parks is the sequel to the Both of us. But you can read this as a standalone book as I have not read the first one. I only realised this from the authors note at the very end of the book. This has a unique storyline, great characters with lots of twists and turns and I couldn’t really envisage this in real life but, nevertheless I couldn’t stop reading. This is very entertaining read. 5 stars from me.

I didn't realise until I'd finished the book that Just Between Us was actually a sequel to a previous novel, Both of Us, however it reads well as a stand alone novel. It is 2020 during the COVID pandemic when the country is largely locked down. Kylie Gillingham has been exposed as a bigamist but she has disappeared and is presumed dead. Meanwhile, in another strand of the story, Stacie Jones is recovering from surgery and has returned to live with her father by the sea near Lyme Regis. The book is told from many different perspectives: the investigating officer, DC Clements, from Stacie, from Kylie and from the viewpoint of her friend Fiona and her husbands. This format allows the author to explore the characters different motivations as the plot unravels. Adele Parks writes page turning novels and this one is no exception. I have to say I found the story a stretch far fetched but I was deeply involved with the characters and more than happy to read on and find out what happened to them. The writing is gripping and the twists and turns compelling. An excellent read.

That moment you start a book and realise is a sequel to a previous book! I read Both of You when it came out and recently gave it to a friend when I realised this one follows that story. Even though this one can be read on its own, it is better understood if you read Both of Us, otherwise, without the full back story this one can get confusing. It has lots of twists and turns and I didn't like any of the characters but didn't stop me from enjoying it I have binge read this one!
