Reviews: Jingo (5)
“I loved this”
(Hardback)
A really great novel.
The story is so clever, it interweaves so many different threads without ever seeming overly complicated.
Vimes is excellent in this, as are the rest of the watch, and we get to see a bit more of Vetinari outside of his office, which I really enjoy.
“Jingo”

Tony Robinson is one of, if not the finest story tellers of this generation. he brings the characters of the disc world to life by giving each their own voice and therefor, personality.Mr. Robinson is quite simply Briliant. (and Mr. T. Pratchett 'aint bad either)
“Another excellent City Watch novel”
(Paperback)
'Jingo' is somewhat new territory for the City Watch, as it doesn't just stay within the city it is so familiar with. But it does not disappoint; the characters are engaging and fun to read, the plot is dynamic (if a little awkward at times, given the new direction the book is going with) and the mystery is, as always, gripping and engaging. I'd personally recommend reading this one after 'Feet of Clay' but it's still perfectly accessible to those who have never read about the City Watch before.
“Very God would read it again”
(Paperback)
The city watch series is good as well as the witches Siri is equal rights, weird sisters, Lords and ladies, witches Abroad, Masquerade and carpe jugulum
But my favourite series of them all is the death series but it is nice to see the city watch series return to protect the lives of the discworld Characters and their stories
“Good story, not much humour”
(Paperback)
I came to the discworld series through my brother who recommended it after reading the first four books. When I read the colour of magic book 5 had just been released. I loved the books when I read them. Over the coming years I read each book and enjoyed them but unfortunately I started to waver with pratchett's writing. The books at first and for some time after, were very good stories and very funny. But I started to find that they became either a brilliant story but not funny or extremely funny with a weak plot. So after book 25, the truth I stopped reading pratchett. I do have very fond memories of the books though. None were terrible, most were brilliant I just fell out with them.
The discworld series is packed with invention and humour. Characters leap off the page from rincewind, to the guards of Ankh-morpork, the witches to death, who is my absolute favourite character. The rating will give my feelings for each book. I still recommend pratchett to others despite my stopping reading him. The books are good and one day I may consider returning to them, time and money permitting.
