“Thrilling and Gritty Gangland”
(Paperback)
From the first page, i knew this book was for me. Every chapter was exciting right to the end, well written, with great characters. The characters were introduced slowly so you got a chance to get to know them.
Janey Hallahan is a very strong woman and she runs her criminal gang with a rod of iron. If her workers are loyal to her they are looked after. If they tread on her toes they are in serious trouble, as is the case of Danny McInroy.
Working off of his late father's respected name he hates women and working for one is below him, so he tries to take off Janey's gang...........
Every page had something exciting to read about, violence, murder, twisted coppers and hate are the name of this book.
I love Alex Kane's writing and have read and enjoyed everyone.
This one especially.
“A tough gangland thriller!”
(Paperback)
Janey Hallahan is head of the powerful Glasgow gangland family business helped by her husband Ciaran. When Geo McInroy dies his stepson Danny takes over the running of Club Envy but his boss is Janey. Danny hates Janey, he hates all women who he believes aren’t worthy of his respect, but Janey has his measure and will stop at nothing to protect her empire even if it means removing Danny.
‘Janey’ runs her business with a fist of iron, but she’s also loyal to those who work for her and will destroy anyone who crosses her and who she considers deserving of her kind of justice. Although she thinks nothing of causing bloodshed I like Janey as she’s tough yet fair and has the respect of her gang. The story is gritty with lots of drama, intrigue and suspense and an exciting conclusion that was fitting. I’ve enjoyed reading this thriller and would like to read more of Janey in the future.
“A good read”
(Paperback)
This is a well written, gritty gangland thriller that I thoroughly enjoyed. Alex Kane certainly knows how to connect with her readers through her writing and has really excelled here, in my opinion. I've devoured this book in just over a day, whenever I had any free time I would pick my kindle up again and continue reading, it was that good. I thought the book started off well and I was drawn in straightaway and the more I read the more I became invested in the characters and the story. As always, there are characters I loathed and hated and I think the author has definitely done their job making me feel this way. There are lots of threads here, and they all begin to slowly come together beautifully towards the end, leading to an expected ending. If you're a fan of gangland, crime books I'd recommend this and don't think you'll be disappointed.

“Very good read.”
(Paperback)
Another very good read set in Glasgow and revolving around gangsters. I liked the characterisation and the plotting. Some characters I absolutely hated, especially Danny! The plotting was interesting, there was plenty drama and suspense with a neatly wrapped up ending. An author I would recommend for lovers of thrillers. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.
