Reviews: It (41)
“A very good read”
(Paperback)
Probably my second or third favorite Stephen King novel. The town of Derry is one of his better creations and it tastes like a rotten apple.
“Chilling - but soooooooooooooooo long!”
(Paperback)
This book is off-puttingly long - so long, in fact, that I literally forgot what happened at the beginning of the novel and was quite confused when it was referenced later in the book! There are some very chilling and frightening scenes, but there's an awful lot of "coming-of-age" stuff as well, and I found all this a bit repetitive. It didn't need to be as long as it was - it felt like a test of stamina!!
“A nightmare worth experiencing!”
(Paperback)
A chilling horror from start to finish, IT deals with the losers club as they tackle then cosmic horror that is IT. This story perfect captures the desperation the losers club feel as they stumble about the town of Derry in search for IT, making even the reader feel claustrophobic with the sublime distortion of this killer clown in this timeless classic that’s enjoyable to read for any who love horror and the mystery of the unknown.
“It”
(Paperback)
IT is a monster which takes on the form of the thing that frightens you most and after reading it, mine would be this book! I finished it with a sense of relief as at times felt i could have been one of the children.
It was hard work in places as there are so many characters to remember and i felt a little disappointment with the speed at which the conclusion unravelled after wading through so many pages of fantastic detail.
However, this is an epic story, the scariest i have ever read and is definitely worth reading.
