A little difficult to get into at the begining, but once the plot kicks in, it really does kick into overdrive. A well recommended read!
“A read that you cannot put down”
(Paperback)
by Rob Culliford
Obviously this novel has gained more traction as of late thanks to the Bill Skarsgard movies, but this doesn't take away from what is easily one of my favourite KING books. Heck of a lot of pages - but no-one is really wandering about at the moment are they? A fab time to pick up a book and get lost in some words. Why not start here? As in the movies, Richie is easily my favourite character.
“It”

While this is so far my least favourite Stephen King book, it is the first one that has felt extremely heartfelt and as if it had a lot of love poured into it. Expectedly, the group of friends is amazingly well-developed and described in such meticulous detail that you can't help but love all of them (my personal faves were Richie, Ben and Bev). By the end of the book, you feel very sad to see them go and leave each other (mild spoiler alert) but you also contrastingly feel very uplifted from the perfectly executed use of bittersweet. Personally, the only thing I didn't like was the extra information that is included here and there in this piece of work but it does help you connect with the characters and the world. I also thoroughly enjoyed the mythology/background surrounding It, the Turtle and the universe, as always the world is spectacularly created and described. While It was by far not the best Stephen King book I've read, It and It's characters hold a very extraordinary place in my heart from the endearing feeling I felt upon consumption and completion.
“A mighty great read”
(Paperback)

It's a big book, but it has a lot to say. King imbues his writing with an almost Dickensian level of details and still wacks out a mighty good horror. Well worth the read and unexpectedly touching.
“Very scary - better than the movies”
(Paperback)
by Nate Munney
Forget the recent movies, this is where you need to go to get a true fright. Small town terror is drummed up nicely in one of Stephen King's most enduring horror-fests. Send in the clowns!
