I read this new pottery book with great interest. I have quite a few books already, but none of the others have attempted to do what this one does, and it does it successfully. It discusses the history of pottery, and then goes on to explain very thoroughly how to make pots, both on the wheel and off. But what it really does well is tell you how to do the glazing and the firing of pots. I have struggled to understand how glazes work, but this book really helped me out. I would recomend it to anyone who is seriously intersted in learning about how to make pots and understand why things work the way they do. An excellent book with great appendices that I will look to again and again I am sure.
