Quite simply the twist and turns were tremendous. Has you gripped to the page wondering what is going to happen next! Cannot wait for her next one in August!!!

I couldn't wait to have , and read this book and almost ordered it twice by mistake !. My order didn't seem to go through so I did click and collect. The assistant told me it was a common problem. Anyway , I got said book home and began reading- I wasn't disappointed. Val McDermid is an absolute master and I love the interaction between Carol and Tony. I read this in four days , just couldn't put it down. I always feel a bit sad when I have finished a good book also a little excited , on the look out for another. It is very clever and a superb ending. However I can't tell, i have been sworn to secrecy!.

Val is a great writer of crime drama, up there with Colin Dexter and the greats. This is a tremendous book.

Another excellent read of a case for Carol Jordan and Tony Hill. Each book in this series gives us a little more information on not only Carol and Tony's relationship but also about the members of Carol's team in the new ReMIT group. The case is a race against time when they are up against a very aware and careful murderer. Not only are the team struggling with the case they are also under pressure from within the force.

Another fantastic book from Val McDermid with the return of DCI Carol Jordan and Dr Tony Hill. If you like a good crime novel with police procedure, forensics, legal issues, intensity, psychological analysis and personal dilemmas, this is the book for you. Val McDermid has returned with a real page turner, with real twists and turns. Fantastic read.
