All too soon the magnificent HMRC series has come to an end with this grand finale. And what a showstopper! The Coven and Hebden Witches have to dig deep and draw on every power and alliance they have in order to vanquish Lucifer and save the world as they know it for themselves and for all who follow after. Throughout the series, the hard topics, the humour, the resilience and downright fierce celebration of womanhood in all its guises are handled expertly. It’s an absolute joy to read and I’m gutted it’s over. Brilliant stuff. My thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley. This review was written voluntarily and is entirely my own unbiased opinion.

Human Rites is the brilliant conclusion to the Her Majesty's Royal Coven series. It is a very satisfying ending that feels like an appropriate culmination of everything that's happened so far. It's not an easy ride for the characters we've grown to love, but it does feel very apt. This is a fast-paced story full of high-stakes (world-ending stakes in fact) and lots of twists and turns. There were so many parts of what happened that I did not expect. I don't think I could've predicted half of what happened, but each shock and dramatic event led to an ending I loved. Recommended for fans of the HMRC series. If you've enjoyed the first two books in this series, I think you'll enjoy the journey to the end. Thanks to Netgalley for the e-copy. I already have my physical copy preordered, but it was lovely to read this early!

I am a huge fan of this series, so when I was approved to read the finale I dropped everything to read it immediately. I was not disappointed. This is the perfect ending to an incredible series. Juno Dawson has created an incredible world that blends the complexities of family and friendship with current-day issues, deep emotion, and just the right amount of humour. I am devastated to be saying goodbye to the Hebden Girlies! The growth of the characters has been beautifully written and the redemption arcs have been masterful. This is truly a perfect conclusion to an epic saga of magic, friendship, and growth.

Human Rites by Juno Dawson I give this book 4.5 stars This is the final book in this incredible series and I was so excited to be back with the Hebden Bridge coven. I personally think these work better in order rather than standalones. I’ve been totally invested in these 5 diverse witches who live in a modern world and have such an empowering bond together as they come up against Lucifer the political demon. I’ve loved the 90’s nostalgia throughout the series and I enjoyed the time travelling element within this book that produced revelations from the past. One tiny thing to mention the pacing felt slightly off. But for me personally this was a satisfying conclusion to an urban fantasy series that’s filled with magic and witchcraft, sisterhood, resilience & identity. Could there be future potential spin offs from the author I certainly hope so

The HMRC books are full of things I love; great character dynamics, witty banter, British cultural references aimed at someone in their late 30s, oh - and demons. This final book has all this in spades. The gang is back together and the final showdown against the big bad is imminent. The stakes are high and the pacing is fast, you won't be able to put it down until the final page. I am only disappointed that I don't have another HMRC book to look forward to.
