This is a brilliant piece of writing with layer after layer of metaphors and self reflection. So hard to pigeon-hole... “Clockwork Orange”? Bach’s “Illusions”? Homer?... Star Wars! It’s a journey that is well worth reading. The language is not hard to read if you let it take you over and you will not put it down, for fear of losing the learnings. It’s difficult not to fall in love with the hero as he fights and fakes against an unjust society. The language is endearing whilst the landscapes and characters are mesmerising. We can all learn something from HOWUL!
