This book continues where the first book finished, full of action and suspense this book engaged me as much as the first. I couldn't put it down. The characters are well drawn and you're backing Dillon Hope to get through the dangers that he faced. I would highly recommend this book. Thanks to Pan Macmillan and Netgalley for this review copy
“Loved this second book”
(Hardback)

Hope Rises by David Baldacci is the second book in the Walter Nash Series. The ebook is published by Grand Central, the audiobook by Hachette Audio. The audiobook is narrated by multiple narrators including MacLeod Andrews and Christine Lakin. This is not a stand alone. The book picks up immediatedly after the previous book was left off. I read the ebook and liked it. I listened to the audiobook and just loved it. First I thought hiring 6 narrators is overload, but I really really enjoyed the variety. I highly recommend the audio book that deserves all the stars.
“Exciting”
(Hardback)
by Elizabeth Bennett
I can highly recommend, Hope Rises, by David Baldacci ,the sequel to Nash Falls, a fast paced and exciting crime thriller. I have yet to read book 1, Nash Falls. Walter Nash, a former businessman, is now working for the FBI, as an informant, under the alias of Dillon Hope, in order to infiltrate, and bring down Victoria Steer's criminal organisation, whom Walter had unknowingly worked for in the past, Nash becomes Steer's bodyguard and he is out to seek his revenge. Nash is sent on a mission by Steers to Myanmar to bring her Mother, Masuyo home from being incarcerated within an exclusive private prison. Masuyo is not all she appears to be as she has hidden agendas with regard to her daughter. Nash is yet to meet Steer's adversary, billionaire, Connor Lord who has an exceedingly high IQ of 230, and between Steers and Lord, they will play out a mental chess game in order to win or lose. I loved this quote in the book, Steers says to Lord, "The truth is often the source of fuel for enduring fires." Lord replies, it sounds like your quoting from a Chinese fortune cookie". Steers replies she had. I loved the way Steers calls Nash "Dilon-san, and Steers instructs Nash to call her Victoria-san. In Japanese, using san, is a mark of respect.

“Fast moving!”
(Hardback)
by Annette Librarian
I’m a David Baldacci fan so I was excited to receive a review copy of Hope Rises, the 2nd book in the Walter Nash series. After losing everything and transforming into a version of an action hero, previously mild mannered Walter Nash sets out to get close to crime queen Victoria Steers who has had his daughter murdered. Working for the FBI and also pursuing his own agenda Walter, now known as Dillon Hope , gradually becomes indispensable to Victoria who sends him on a dangerous mission to rescue her imprisoned mother. The plot is complicated but fast moving and extremely entertaining. I couldn’t put it down and was eager to find out how it would all end for Walter and whether there will be a book 3- I certainly hope there will be as he is definitely someone I’d want to learn more about. I recommend Hope Rises to all action thriller fans and would suggest reading the earlier book first if possible. Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for my advance copy.

“So many surprises!”
(Paperback)
by carvanz
This was awesome! The tension grabbed me early and never really let up. There was real danger threaded through the story, not just high stakes on paper but that constant feeling that something could tip over at any second. And the surprises? So good. It had that addictive momentum where I kept thinking I had it figured out and then nope. Completely wrong. I love when a story can keep me on my toes, and this one absolutely did. This one delivered all the suspense, twists, and that edge-of-your-seat energy I’ve come to expect from a Baldacci thriller.
