“A great end to the series!”
(Paperback)
I've been looking forward to Xander and Teddy's story since book one! when they're mentioned I just knew they'd end up together I just wasn't sure how, considering she's married when we first meet her.
I enjoyed this book, it was a slower burn as both characters have their own trauma and baggage to work through. There was plenty of yearning though and when the spice hit, it was hot!! I loved the way she was affected everytime he called her "mama"
I definitely preferred the other couples a little more but this book was full of cute moments, especially with the kids
I have thoroughly enjoyed the Hotshots series

“Didn't love it, but didn't hate it”
(Paperback)
This was my least favourite in the series unfortunately. I wanted to love it, but there were just some plot points that made me uncomfortable. Mostly the timing.
I loved the characters. The body positivity and Teddy smashing it as a single mum. I just couldn't get past certain points that didn't sit right with me. I personally feel it was too soon to mix a new love in with the grief of losing your husband of 15 years, father of your children, and only man you've ever been with mixed with the postpartum hormones.
It's left me torn about this book, but overall I did enjoy it despite it's faults.
Thank you to Pan for the advanced copy of this book.

“Age gap, single mum firefighter romance”
(Paperback)
2.5 stars
Unfortunately this was my least favourite book in the Sky Ridge Hotshots series. I liked the glimpses of Teddy and Xander in the previous books but they were both quite frustrating MCs once we got their povs. Xander was a bit too much too quickly for me and Teddy seemed to care more about her body issues than her children grieving their father.
I also found the timeline just a bit off. I fully appreciate everyone grieves differently but considering the length of her marriage and previous relationship, it felt like she was falling for Xander very quickly after her husband’s death. It was also a bit unbelievable that everyone in her life (children, husband’s parent’s, brother) had no issues with her moving on quickly. I’m not a fan of drama for drama’s sake but I also think a narrative where everything is perfect and everyone reacts exactly as you hope they do does not do a story dealing with topics such as grief and trauma justice. Also Xander reading his Dad’s letter at the exact perfect time and it suited his exact situation was again unbelievable.
I did enjoy some parts of the book - the children were well written and I enjoyed the appearances from previous characters.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
