THIS IS A WONDERFUL BOOK. Philip Pullman writes so well and has such an excellent imagination. I was completely caught up in all his worlds. It was a bit scary sometimes too.

This edition of The Dark Materials is stunning. It's just amazing how the presentation of a book affects the reader on so many different levels. This book is nice to keep on your bookshelf, and you will look back at it, years after you read it, and remember that happy feeling you got from the story, the cover and the magic inside.

'His Dark Materials' is, supposedly, book for young adults but I first read this trilogy when I was in my fifties and it will appeal to readers of all ages who appreciate works of great imagination. Philip Pullman create worlds that are different but are totally believable. It also addresses current concerns of religious dogma, zealotry and bigotry. It is a piece of writing that have enjoyed on many occasions and hope to do so many times in the future.
