“Birds & bees invade Wellington's Beehive!”
(Paperback)
This was a good romance with heat and I liked the touch of new Zealand political intrigue. Jason's rising star in his political party has revealed positives about the things he can accomplish in support of his constituents but also plenty of negatives that are wreaking havoc with his health. Enter a down-to-earth Marnie, in need of a major confidence boost, and romance quickly ensues. It's fun to see a guy playing the Prince Charming and using every resource at his disposal to chase down a mystery woman who captures his interest.
Marnie, with her body image and health issues, is very relatable but I thought she was a bit young to assume she was over the hill. Sure, she's got a marriage behind her and two children but thirty-nine is barely middle age these days!
Great setting, good supporting characters and just enough villains to stir the pot and create some obstacles for Jason and Marnie to surmount.
I originally read a complimentary advance copy of the book before purchasing it; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
