This book shows great pictures of our troops In and around cambastion theres a detailed write up of David Baileys Time out in Afganistan with is extremely intriguing and mind blowing half the time we only see and hear whats on the news. Theres a mind blowing picture of the inside of the Chinook where the MERT team deal with casualties.These men and women are a real credit to the U.K. This book is very personal to me as my partner is in the RAF Reg 3 Sqd and is on the front bottom left of this books cover (SAC Chikosi) and is also found in the back of the book I feel extremely proud and would recommend anyone to buy this as it gives an insight to our troops lives and what they see !! You may have noticed that those little cards we use in the shop to recommend our favourite books have changed a bit. Now we’re encouraged not to say just why we like something, and why everyone else should buy it, but how it makes us feel. I don’t mind telling you that with some of the stuff I read, this presents certain problems. This book made me feel – what? ‘Even more pleased with myself than usual because it completes my Hornblower collection’? ‘That the subject of East Germany’s foreign policy in Africa isn’t quite as much fun as you think it’s going to be’? But with this one, ‘Heroes’, there was no hesitation, no doubt whatsoever. It’s in aid of ‘Help for Heroes’, who do such excellent work with our injured servicemen and women. There really is no better cause. David Bailey’s remarkable photographs of Camp Bastion in Afghanistan made me feel – so proud.
