“A powerful debut”
(Paperback)
A stunning debut novel that seamlessly unites the disparate elements of one man's life, charting an errant father's journey back to his estranged son and chronicling their lost years apart. The story has a wonderful fluidic quality moving from different time periods and geographical locations with complete ease. The whole novel is underpinned by father and son's mutual appreciation of the natural world and our inconsequential place within it- indeed some of the more violent scenes have a beautiful natural backdrop.Written with a lyrical and emotional intensity that belies its status as a first novel, I was left bereft when the final page was turned.
