The first book in the Grail series by Bernard Cornwell is set at the beginning of the Hundred Years war between France and England. We follow a young archer Thomas of Hookton to war which concludes with the Battle of Crecy. This is Cornwell at his best as usual, full of action, war, violence and historical accuracy - definitely recommended!
