“Brilliant read!”
(Paperback)
Another great book in the Michael Bennett series. There's drama, sadness, humour, romance and so many other things, it takes you on an emotional rollercoaster!
The new characters that come in are great, I especially love Mr Cody and McMurphy. I was a little bit unsure about McMurphy when he first came into the story but by the end I loved him. He's such a character!
Perrine just gets badder and better as a character and I can't help but love him. The brutal attacks, the cocky attitude, his relationship (if you'd call it that) with Bennett. He's just awesome!
All in all a great book and a great read!
I'm now waiting for the next book in the series to be delivered so I can start reading that!
“Good, quick read.”
(Paperback)
This outing for Michael Bennett and clan is actually very good. All the usual ingredients are included: fun, courtesy of Seamus and the kids; romance, courtesy of Mary Catherine and our intrepid hero (despite the hiccup in the preceding novel things start to look up by the end of this one....they really do need to get a room!); murder, mayhem and gore, courtesy of Manuel Perrine, the uber-rich psycho who escaped in the preceding book. Add to the mix some great new characters such as Mr Cody and Mc Murphy in addition to the scores of law enforcement all in pursuit of said psycho and we are presented with a fun-filled bullet laden chase across the States and into Mexico. An astonishingly high body count and some interesting methods of bringing about the end of life for some dastardly individuals makes for a slightly more brutal and graphic book than some of the earlier ones in this series (but that's fine, my inner sadist is whooping with unabashed glee!).
It doesn't challenge the intellect (at all!), just switch off the noggin and enjoy a ride through the gore dotted countryside of James Patterson's universe.
