If you LOVE great crime thrillers then you need to be reading this series. Please read it in order though - So Going Dark / Going Rogue / Going Back. This author was recommended to me by Tony Kent (who is also a fantastic author), I'd never heard of Neil Lancaster at the time... but I will now happily recommend him to all crime thriller fans. Great characters, good plot, excellent pace. This author's books could solve many of your Christmas present dilemmas this year... trust me and buy them.

Before his Max Craigie series was published by Harper Collins, author Neil Lancaster wrote and (I think) self-published three books about an undercover cop called Tom Novak. As an ex-cop himself, Lancaster brings grit and realism to what are essentially action thrillers. Tom Novak is a great protagonist – tough, clever and creative – and the stories are a bit more international than the Max Craigie novels. Exciting and action-packed, as well as being believable, I think all three novels are brilliant and recommended reading them in order if you can: Going Dark, Going Rogue and Going Back.
