Dr Laurie Montgomery, Chief New York City Medical Examiner, finds no apparent cause of death of a 29 year old woman. She presents as an apparent overdose, with the syringe still in her arm but on autopsy, the physical signs of that are not present. She finds the woman is 7 weeks pregnant but her family and friends did not know. When another similar case lands on Laura's autopsy table, she suspects that she may be looking at homocides. In this fast moving story Robin Cook uses DNA and ancestry websites to trace a killer. I enjoyed this novel and would recommend it.
