“PAPERBACK”
(Paperback)
Love Chris Carter 's books got everyone of his books. The pairing up of Hunter and Garcia work great together they can read one another. Hunter serious but gentle and Garcia comedic but serious.
“A brilliantly gruesome thriller”
(Paperback)
Book 12 in the fabulous Robert Hunter series &, be warned, the previous gory heights have been well & truly surpassed. This one goes all the way to 11 & beyond.
Fear. Pain. Death. The start of the process for the serial killer who is being hunted by the LAPD Ultra Violent Crimes Unit. For a change I’m not going to say anymore about the plot, but I will say that my vivid imagination was working overtime & the sadistic killings were imprinted on my mind’s eye.
I love these books; well executed plots & curve balls thrown when least expected. Bar one, they can all be read as standalones but I would recommend starting at the very beginning. Give yourself a break between books though, maybe do some therapeutic colouring or take up crochet!

“Chris Carter”
(Paperback)
I have read all of Chris Carters books and consider him to be the best crime/thriller writer I have encountered.Being a psychologist in the police dept his stories have a depth and insight into the behaviours of people who are potentially criminally insane.I am always waiting for his next book.Brilliant reading material, every book is different and gripping t the end.
“Another cracking instalment in this dark police procedural series”
(Paperback)
Book 12 in the Robert Hunter series and if you’ve got this far then you know what to expect. This is going to be a dark, gruesome and disturbing read and yes you are right but this time I felt even more than previously! Detectives Hunter and Garcia of LAPDs Ultra Violent Crimes Unit are back with a new case and this is one that even they are shocked by. Written brilliantly this is a chunky book but don’t be put off it is compelling reading.
Briefly, the book starts with a drunk woman arriving home from a party. Then she starts to receive distressing messages. The next day she’s found dead and it’s clear that she was brutally tortured. Inside her body, they find a note that seems to be part of a poem. More deaths follow, each with more of the poem inside their bodies, but there seems to be no link between the victims.
I do love a good police procedural and the procedural elements of this book are as always excellent, this is what keeps me coming back for more. And of course the main characters are just becoming more like friends than people on a written page. I’m not sure just how much more sadistic Carter’s killers can become, this one turned my stomach! The scenes of suicide and mental health are done well and are quite emotional. Can I just say if you didn’t read the dedication at the start of this book then please do and there is some useful information at the end if you need help. Another fantastic read.
