“Great book”

Like all his other books this is great and I just couldn't put it down, now working through his other books.
“Quite good”

I'm not a massive fan of crime stories which focus on organised criminals, all the gangster stuff isn't really my thing, but this takes a slightly different approach. The story starts with a sighting of a man who was believed to have been murdered by a hitman hired by his wife 10 years ago, and Tom Thorne has to track him down. It's an interesting and involving story, with a few surprises along the way, but it's not one of my favourite in the series.
“Bit disapointed”
(Paperback)
by C. Peake
This book seemed to be a bit of an 'in between' story, in that Thorne didn't really develop much - even though there were quite a few things that could have made him come to a decision or change something in his life. Thought we were going to get an interesting new character in the books as well, but that didn't come to fruition. Still looking forward to the next one though.

A fine example of British crime writing. I was, however, mildly disappointed with the ending. There was an incredible build up but I felt that things reached a conclusion a little too quickly. If you are a fan of crime fiction, definately give this a try, even if you've never tried Mark Billingham before - you'll want to read more once you do.
