Freefall, the third book in the Tunnels series, was all I hoped for - excitement, drama, good pace and atmosphere. What this book benefited from was the way the different strands of the story - the pore, the submarine, topsoil, the different characters - were all married together so well. I liked the way the book was broken into 6 parts and the titles of each part gave me a sense of what was to come and added to the anticipation.I was surprised at the rather abrupt ending, however there is no doubt in my mind that this signified that there is every possibility of a fourth book in this well written, imaginative saga.
