“A terrifying story of how justice can see innocent people land behind bars.”
(Hardback)
by Elite Reviewing Group
John Grisham has always championed the work of the Innocence Project. In this book, he writes about cases that are so shocking and so full of holes that it beggars’ belief that the police could have got these poor innocent victims committed of crimes they had nothing to do with. As I read through each story I was left wondering if this was simply police taking a view that it didn’t matter if they locked up an innocent person – as long as they could say they’d got their killer. I wish the stories written about in this book were simply a few cases where the wrong person is convicted without having committed the crime, but the Innocence Project will tell you a different story – the stories covered in this book are simply the tip of an iceberg. Thank you, John Grisham, for bringing these stories to the attention of the public. Please never give up on the Innocence Project. Rony Elite Reviewing Group
“A MUST READ”
(Hardback)
by Lovetoread2023
This was a difficult and heartbreaking read Ten cases of wrongful convictions explained by John Grisham and Jim McClosey. 21 people accused of the most heinous crimes. These miscarriages of justice that should never of happened they were at times nowhere near where the crimes were committed yet once the people in authority had them on their radar nothing and no one could change their minds even when the real culprit was at times under their noses. The strength of the accused in each case is totally humbling. I can not imagine what it must feel like to know you have not done something you are accused of but for no one to listen,to spend the best years of your life in prison and to lose everything you hold dear. An important read that needs to be told. Thanks to Netgalley and Hodder and Stoughton for the ARC.
“Absolutely incredible.”
(Hardback)
by Peter Evans
John Grisham and Jim McCloskey tell the true stories of ten huge miscarriages of justice. A book that sheds light on the American legal system and its inadequacies, and how hard it is to overturn a guilty verdict, even if there is new evidence to exonerate the accused parties. When you read this book you will find it hard to believe some of the things the justice system gets up to. From flawed testimony, corruption, blatant lies and systemic racism. This really is a heart wrenching and desperate set of stories, but has some moments of hope. I personally can’t recommend this book enough, from start to finish you will engrossed and will find it hard to believe these stories are real. This is an incredibly well researched book and brilliantly written and one I highly recommend.

“The flaws of tbe USA justice system.”
(Hardback)
by Rafa Willisch
John Grisham’s Framed is a gripping exploration of the flaws within the United States justice system. He delves deeper into the human cost of wrongful convictions, particularly the harrowing reality of innocent people being sent to death row. The story is both a compelling legal drama and a scathing critique of systemic failures—rushed investigations, prosecutorial misconduct, unreliable witnesses, and the limits of forensic science. The writers masterfully bring these issues to life through the experiences of their protagonist, whose life are derailed by a miscarriage of justice. What makes Framed stand out is its ability to balance tension and reflection. While the legal battles and courtroom scenes keep you on edge, the book also invites readers to question their own assumptions about guilt, innocence, and the infallibility of the justice system. Ultimately, Framed is more than a legal thriller—it’s a call to action. It underscores the need for reforms to prevent innocent lives from being destroyed and reminds us of the profound responsibility that comes with dispensing justice. This is a must-read for fans of Grisham and anyone interested in the intersection of law, ethics, and human rights.
