Forever Star is the story of Tim and Tim, a pair of aliens who want a child. So, off they set to the Space Queen, who gives them permission to adopt a little one called Jim. I honestly love this book so much. The rhyming story is sweet and fun, with some really gorgeous, simple illustrations that show the Tims journeying across the stars to find their child. It's a really accessible way of explaining to children that, sometimes, a family is something that you make and forge for yourselves. More personally, as one of two perspective dad's, this is a book that one day I'll be able to show my child and they'll see themselves, not as the punchline to a joke or someone to be pitied, but as a loved, cherished, wanted part of a family.
