I picked this book simply because it was based on one of the most controversial topics and one of the last taboos in our society. Before starting this book, i thought it would be impossible to like this book. How can you root for a relationship involving incest? However, after reading this book i can say this is one of the best, most moving and most saddest books i have ever read. Shockingly, in this book i wanted nothing more than for the relationship to work and for them to live 'happily ever after.' I shall not spoil the ending for potential readers but a warning i was a complete wreck afterwards! Tissues will be required! A masterpiece of a book where you can't help but sympathise and root for the two characters! I challenge anyone to read this book. Old stereotypes and opinions may just change. A truly heart breaking, moving book. One of the best books i've read in a long time!

Tabitha suzumas' writing in beautiful. This book focuses on a controversial issue which you may agree with or disagree, but this book may change your perspective. Going into this book I did not know much about it, however it had been highly recommended by book tubers and now I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. However, if you are under the age of 14 I wouldn't recommend reading this just yet as it does have some scenes which will not be suitable to read. Overall, this book is breathtaking, you go through a roller coaster of emotions, but anyone could appreciate this story and it's characters.

This book actually made me cry. When I first read the blurb, I was hesitant to read because I have a brother, and just the thought of it makes me feel sick. However, the beautiful way its written makes you understand exactly how they feel for each other. It makes that terribly wrong thing seem so right, and it made me angry that all that horrible stuff would happened to them just because they fell in love. The ending was the best of all. Totally unpredictable and left me in absolute tears. This took forbidden love to the next level. Extraordinary.

To start off this book was completely out of the norm for me - i normally read fantasy stories - but i found myself being drawn to this book due to the title and the front cover, and of course the blurb. This book covers a topic which is generally shyed upon, and is considered to be a 'taboo' in life - incest. However throughout this book i found the line between right and wrong blurring, infact there wasnt any line at all. I didnt think about what was right and wrong, didnt think about what people would say if this were to happen in life, which it sometimes does. All i could think about were the characters, especially Lochie and Maya and i found myself almost refusing to think about the inevitable while reading, all i wanted was a happy ending for the two characters as i read about a love so perfectly described by the author, it was simply breathtaking, yet considered so wrong. When the inevitable ending did come however, it was not through the means i expected and definately not in the way i expected. I found myself unable to stop crying as the book drew to a close. Althought most people route for a happy ending and even avoid books with a sad ending, i wouldnt hesitate to recommend this book to anyone, becuase although this story may not have what is considered a happy ending, it certainly has one that people will never forget.

I'm a strong believer in authors writing for 'young adults' and tackling taboo or sensitive subjects; this book is probably one of the most taboo you'll read, raising the bar far above Melvin Burgess ('Doing It' and 'Junk'). Two young people going through a horrific time fall in love; it's a lovee the reader sees develop, believes in and, ultimately, wants to win through. However, throw into the mix the fact the lovers are brother and sister and... well... you can imagine what a difficult subject that is! Written with genuine heart, this is something that deserves to be read and discussed.
