I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The plot was well written and considered and didn't fall into the trap of having the lead character involved in every single stage of the investigation, which made everything that bit more believable. Although the idea of the someone killing people and adding them to the food chain was a bit 'out there' I thought MacBride handled it well without over sensationalising the idea. I particularly enjoyed the inclusion of the various newspaper clippings and how if you read them carefully they gave you clues to the over all story.

I bought all Stuart Mcbride's books - including this one - in hardback, couldn't wait. Loads of humour, strong characters, good writing - until this one. My over-riding memory of this will be the violence, in really sickening detail - I struggled to finish it. I'll be very wary of the next one.
