Kat inherits her father's house which needs complete renovation. She must battle with the effects of her ADHD, her mother's constant criticism, grief on losing the father who abandoned her, the increasing feelings she has for her builder. Liam , and guilt on letting her best friend down when she is needed. Hard to put down, wondering how Kat is going to cope with all her battles.
“Great British rom-com.”
(Paperback)
by Sue Carter
I loved this story of designer, Kat and grumpy builder, Liam. Kat has ADHD & Dyslexia and struggles with life in general. When her father dies, she inherits his house and re-evaluates her life and what she wants to do whilst renovating it to sell. I absolutely loved nearly all the characters in the story especially Kat’s warm northern family and soft centered Liam. This is a really well-written rom com and deals with Kat’s issues and how she copes with them very well. There are some laugh out loud, as well as some really sad, moments, especially when her toxic mother is involved. The awful truth is that her mother has no idea how to deal with the way Kat is and tries to force her into a ‘normal’ mould rather than supporting and assisting her. A seriously good read with the obligatory HEA. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

“The perfect small town romance!”
(Paperback)
by Harriet Field
Oh I loved this so much. I can’t remember the last romance novel that made me this warm and giddy. I loved everything about it! Small town? Check! Grumpy/sunshine? Check! Found family? Check! It really was the whole package. When Kat’s late father leaves her an old, run down house, she moves to the small town of Everly Heath to fix it up. Whilst there, she gets swept up in the nosy neighbours, reconnecting with old family and the grumpy builder, Liam, who offers his help with the house. Kat was funny, relatable and incredibly loveable. Her growing confidence throughout the book was so heartwarming. LIAM !!!!! he was constantly raising the bar. He would literally do anything for Kat and he was so good at communicating (miscommunication trope who??). I adored their relationship, Liam always made sure that Kat knew her worth. And I loooved Kat’s bond with Abi! Of course, it wouldn’t be a small town romance without the nosy locals who were all Kat and Liam’s biggest supporters. I loved the community in this book and how they all welcomed Kat with open arms. This book was so cosy and heartwarming and perfect to read cuddled up in a blanket that you can blush into. An absolutely wonderful debut from Maggie Grant

4.5 stars rounded up to 5 stars Thank you to Netgalley and Bedford Square Publishers for the ARC, all opinions are my own! This is the perfect small town romance and is a must read for fans of Gilmore Girls and witty dialogue. Fans of Lorelai and Luke look no further as this is the perfect romance book for you! Fix Them Up follows Kat in the wake of her Dad’s death, trying to come to terms with her grief whilst navigating a new skill set in renovation and interior design. Enter our MMC, the grumpy contractor Liam and sparks will fly! I absolutely loved watching Kat and Liam discover their feelings towards one another, and how much Liam looked after Kat as she struggled with her ADHD in a new and often overwhelming environment. With forced proximity, some delicious tension and grumpy x sunshine main characters, Fix Them Up delivers everything I need for a steamy romance that has me begging for more. Everly Heath is a town of dreams, and I’m waiting for my own Liam to come and build me my own dream home… with a huge library!

It was great to read a small town romance that was based in the UK. The ADHD representation was wonderful. This was an easy to read, enjoyable book.
