“*chef’s kiss*”
(Paperback)
THIS BOOK WAS PERFECTION and I now have a Liam and Kat hole in my heart
“Genuinely funny rom-com”
(Paperback)
Kat is such a relatable character, as well as being a romance it also made me laugh out loud, loved the northern small town setting
“Beautifully plotted, eye-opening and delightful”
(Paperback)
With a great romcom, you know what you’re getting overall, but you also get unique and loving details that deepen the story and expand the domain of romance; and this is a great romcom. Kat’s not doing well, after losing her estranged father more than eight months ago. And now, she finds out she’s inherited the house that he grew up in, a house that he bought just before his sudden death. Events, and a friend who won’t take no for an answer, force Kat to go to the house in Manchester and put in two months to refurb it for sale. The thing is that Kat’s ADHD and her highly-developed design sense mean that she has a perfect house in mind, but also meets her polar opposite in grumpy local builder Liam. Can their fire and water mix end up in a house that she can flip, or will Kat discover that her father’s last gift to her wasn’t simply just a house?
If the answer wasn’t yes, then what are you here for? It’s the classic big city girl goes to a tight knit community that we all know and love from romance novels, big screen and small screen movies and tv series; but with pertinent ADHD, local colour (lovely to see a suburb of Manchester represented in fictional form), and characters that I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of. I felt enveloped in a community and Grant gives us a spicy romance that just works, enlivened with its rollercoaster ride and eleventh hour swerve. Beautifully plotted, eye-opening and delightful.
Four and a half stars
“Brilliant novel”
(Paperback)
This was such a brilliant and heartwarming read. The author's writing hooked me in from the very first page and I kept reading until the end as I wanted to know what happened. The story was easy to follow, had good pacing and a great cast of characters. Plus I loved the ADHD representation. I highly recommend it and I look forward to reading more by the author.
“From ARC, to Indie to Trad. I will buy every version”
(Paperback)
I’ve been really excited for the release of Maggies debut novel and it was worth the wait. Everly Heath and its inhabitants are charming as hell, Liam had me ❤️ from the first scene and as an ADHD girlie myself, I connected a lot with Kats struggles.
Maggie has already announced book 2 and I’m counting down to go back.
