Reviews: First Bite (1)
“Entertaining and thought-provoking”
(Paperback)
For someone who's never had any problems eating anything which comes near their mouth, it's amazing to read about the vast amount of psychology that actually goes into the process of eating for a lot of people, and just how difficult something apparently so simple can be.
Wilson covers every aspect of eating, from how we first develop tastes and habits, to parents' ideas on feeding, eating disorders, ways to deal with hunger, and how it's possible to change even a whole country's eating habits, as happened in Japan after World War 2.
Never too heavy and scientific, and never dumbed down, 'First Bite' is very entertaining and also very intelligent and should be essential reading particularly for those with young children or anyone trying to alter their own eating habits.
