where does one start, the Miss Read series of books start in the 1950's. They are an enjoyable read. Starting off with the village school and the village it is set. Each of her books are funny, reminding the reader of a slower gentler pace of life, set in the Cotswold, reminding you of the countryside, where as normal in a village everyone knows one another, of so they think. Each book is a story in it self, but you can follow their lives in following books.
