Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for inviting me to read this final book in the Missing Children case files series. After the cliff hanger ending with the previous book, I had high hopes and expectations here and was so eager to read this one. It didn’t disappoint at all. Not one bit. It went a different way to what I thought it would (in a good way) which didn’t take anything away from the story. Emma is still intent on bringing down a child trafficking ring and is getting so close to exposing them. Warnings and threats don’t stop her and when she gets help from an unexpected source and new information things really begin to hot up. In my opinion the author has excelled writing this book, it comes together and flows really well and grabbed my attention from the first page and held it throughout. It moved from past to present times very effortlessly and I felt I was unwrapping secret after secret and at times wondered what the author would throw in next. The book raced to a very thrilling conclusion and ending with all loose ends tied up. By the time I got to the end I’d had quite a few wow moments along the way. I really enjoyed this book, and think the author has wrote of a difficult subject with sensitivity and care. You know these things do happen sadly and are a reality for some. On the whole a great book and series which has been compelling, sad, poignant and at times heartbreaking to read and I’m a bit sad it’s come to an end, although I can see myself going back and rereading them at some point.

Investigative journalist Emma Hunter has been searching for sister Anna who disappeared twenty-one years ago from their home in Portland, Dorset. The police in Leicestershire phone Emma informing her that a woman they’ve arrested for a shooting will only speak to her but when she arrives with her friend PC Jack Serrovitz they start questioning her under caution as it appears the woman who’s given her name as Kylie Shakespeare isn’t who she seems. Regrettably ‘Exposed’ is the final part of the Missing Children Case Files which is without doubt one of the most exciting and completely gripping series I’ve ever had the pleasure to read. The final episode begins in Portland, Dorset, with Anna walking to her grandmother’s house, and the story moves from that time to now as Emma alongside Jack, Rachel, Freddie and DCS Rawani get closer to those individuals who’ve been responsible for organised child trafficking along the South Coast for the last three decades. This final part is action-packed, with a deluge of suspense, shock, horror and total disbelief, and the story becomes more frantic as they attempt to keep one step ahead of the traffickers. ‘Exposed’ is an exceptionally well-written and tremendously enjoyable thriller written by a very talented author. I’ve become so involved in the story it’s been impossible to stop reading and when I reached the end it was so emotional I had tears to my eyes.
