Absolutely fantastic read - definitely worth every penny!! can't wait to see the film!

FANTASTIC!!!!Deeply imaginative, wonderfully wicked and tragically inventive. 'Eragon' is one of those novels that have you gripped by the very first page, and refuses to let go until you've finished. With an ingenious plot, unforgettable characters and a bit of it's own magic, the 'Inheritance' trilogy will prove to be the greatest ever debut series for any author. Brilliant.

i first read this book on a suggestion from a friend, and now I love it and have reread it several times. The writer gives truly fantastic descriptions of magic and Alegeasia in a way that totally engrosses the reader. I think this is an excellent series for parents and children alike, a wonderfully enchanting story, the stuff of childhood dreams!

I can't believe that it has taken me this long to pick up Eragon! Dragons, evil emperors, heroes in disguise, elves, dwarfs, and rebel groups... Eragon has everything that you want in a good old-fashioned fantasy novel. This book builds slowly but to a breathtaking crescendo, and I am so glad that there are three more books in the series PLUS a set of short stories. I'm so excited to carry on reading about these characters because they are so relatable. Eragon does what all good books do and makes you feel as though you are journeying along with the characters, worrying about their worries and taking pride in their accomplishments. One thing that I particularly liked about this book was the way the author uses and describes magic. Magic takes a lot of energy from the person using it, and it is a skill that needs to be worked at in order to be used safely and usefully. I enjoy the fact that the magic is not a fix-all, easy solution in this book and is presented as just another tool available to people. Although it is categorised as a teen book I certainly got a lot of enjoyment out of this as an adult and would say that anyone that enjoys a good fantasy book will feel the same. Happy reading!
