Reviews: Dragonfly Falling (1)
“An amazing continuation of the series and I can't say a bad word about it”
(Paperback)
"It was the darkest and greatest magic ever plotted, to put a shadow on the Lowlands that would last a hundred years, to shatter the spirits of the people of the daylight and drag them down into slavery."
Dragonfly Falling is the second in the Shadows Of The Apt series and throws you into the thick of it right from the start. Taking over where Empire In Black And Gold left off, the Wasp Empire advances into the Lowlands in an attempt to cut off the divided and warring factions that call it home.
This is much more action-packed than the first book and following our familiar characters makes it really easy to continue the story. There are some deep character arcs that I won't spoil!
Dragonfly Falling feels like it does a great job at continuing to flesh out this epic fantasy world as well. More races are introduced, we get a glimpse behind the scenes of the Wasp Empire and the mysterious Spiderlands, and start to get hints of the darkness that was caged during the Age Of Lore.
Overall I think this is an amazing continuation of the series and I can't say a bad word about it.
