I'm a big fan of Clive Cussler and this early work is great fun. It's a big, bold thriller that has a clear set of 'baddies' and 'goodies', lots of action and gadgets (albeit very big ones) and a satisfying ending. The story pits America against renegade Japanese big businessmen, with secret societies, nuclear threats and a tsunami thrown in for good measure. I loved it and will be starting another one soon.
