“Best Book Ever (and ive read a lot of books)”

Wow, I never thought id find a book better than the hunger games after i finished that, but when i read this book I did, I loved tris's story and I think that Veronica Roth couldn't have written it better. I recommend for 11+ even though I read it when I was 10. If you loved this book I recommend: The Hunger Games (Suzanne Collins), Twilight (Stephanie Meyer), and Wolf Brother (Michelle Paver) But if you haven't read this book, you 100% should.
“Exceptional and suitable for all ages”

When I first read Divergent, I was about 13. I'm 16 now and I absolutely adore this still (so much so I bought a copy of it in German!). The world of Divergent is clear and easy to imagine, and I could see what the characters could look like (this was read prior to the film being announced or released). It is one of those books that you have to read before the film is seen, and to me it is the book that has sparked my imagination and my love of all things dystopian. The world is easy to believe - it would probably be able to happen due to the logic behind the system. To me, I wanted to see more of the faction system (which is explained in the sequels) but I liked that society had been split into five groups and how everyone had come to accept it. The idea was unique and pulled off flawlessly (to me) by Roth. The characters were three dimensional and weren't perfect and each had defining traits that would be seen to be their downfall. Overall, it is a very enjoyable read.
“The book i make everyone read”

I loved Divergent, it ticks all the boxes; A fantastic lead character who is believable and whose inner monologue we haven't heard in various guises many times before. An action packed, but not too ridiculous plot that, whilst a bit improbable, is easily accepted and enjoyed. Some great are they/aren't they villains. I do love a good blurring of lines between good and evil. Terrific pace, style and structure. I've recommended or given this book to most people i know as gifts. If you enjoy the dystopia genre and haven't read this yet, you're really missing out on one of the best.

This book is like the hunger games, but in my opinion, better! I fell in love with the characters, their personalities are well thought out and easy to relate to. Its really well written and has exiting twists and turns on every page. I couldnt put it down!!! I cant wait to read the next book and hopefully see the movie in 2015!

One of the best books I have read in years! I was up till past 5am reading this book, I was so into it I literally couldn't put it down. If you enjoy Young Adult dystopian fiction, with a bit of a love story thrown in, you'll LOVE DIvergent. The setting will feel familiar to those who have read The Hunger Games Trilogy, but the story itself is very different. Tris is a great main character, very real and easy to relate to; and I absolutely adore Four/Tobias! I have read the second book in the series, too, and I am impatiently awaiting the release of the final installment of the Trilogy in October! With a movie currently in production, due for release in Spring 2014, this book is an absolute must-read!
