As always, wonderful stories. Scary, makes you look at things in a different way,but also strangely touching and poignant.
“Four of King's best stories.”
(Paperback)
by Lucy OConnor Walton on Thames
This is a very well-written collection of four novellas. They aren't strictly horror but they are nevertheless creepy, strange and disturbing. Two of King's most famous stories, which were also both made into films, are here; 'Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption' and 'The Body' are basically dramatic fiction, the first being the furthest from the horror genre and both deal with friendships. The other two stories are more disturbing and strange, with 'The Apt Pupil' being particularly memorable. I don't want to say too much about these stories as I think it would spoil it but I would recommend this to fans of Stephen King and fans of short dramatic fiction.

Stephen King shows his brilliance once more with this collection. All four stories centre around the connections we ultimately make with those around us especially in extraordinary situations. I found my favourite of the stories to be Shawshank Redemption, you just feel utterly involved with the characters. My least favourite was Apt Pupil, it was superbly written and an extremely interesting story but i felt it wasn't the Stephen King i know and love.
