Reviews: Dementia Essentials (1)
“Really helpful and informative”

I borrowed this book from the library having scanned all their books on dementia and finding this the most accessible, comprehensive and well written. The author's mother had Alzheimer's, so she speaks from first hand experience as well as summarising current thinking and research. The book is full of quotes from other carers indicating approaches which have worked and those that haven't and it addresses the difficult experiences and feelings of both carers and dementia sufferers. I bought a copy of the book for someone who is struggling with caring for someone with vascular dementia.
