“Darkness Visible - William Golding”
(Paperback)
As a huge admirer and a devout follower of the work of William Golding, I can only say this is a must read for anyone who has some knowledge or understanding of his work.
Darkness Visible centres around three characters, Matty, Sophy and Toni. Characters worlds apart, yet in different ways and for different reasons struggling and battling with thoughts
and actions of good and evil.
Golding's deep understanding of how people wrestle with their own beliefs, concepts, and how society can influence people with enforced moral codes and ethics, causing inner turmoil and confusion.
Darkness Visible is a sometimes stark but never unwavering view of people striving for a form of acceptance while battling complex, and multi layered issues. A tale seemingly dark and twisted yet also showing how human resolve and strength can be enlightening, and uplifting
