This is part personal memoir of the life and premature death of the author's cousin, and part scathing academic indictment of the judicial system in America. I was unable to put this down, but given the subject matter I can't say that I really *enjoyed* this book. I received a free advance copy in exchange for an honest review, and I can honestly recommend this book. I didn't necessarily agree with all of the author's conclusions about society and I feel that to connect some of her arguments to her cousin's death are a bit of a reach, but it is immensely readable, and your heart breaks for the boy her cousin was and the man he could have been.
