Reviews: Cromwell's Blessing (2)
“1647”
(Paperback)
by Bob S
I enjoyed Plague Child and was looking forward to the sequel. This is even better. I had no idea that 1647 was such a pivotol year in British history and the extent our democracy is testimony to that year - appropriate to write this on this jubilee weekend. I agree with the Sunday Times, Tom Neave is a great character at the heart of this interesting book. The book stands alone if you want to read it first.
“Agood and interesting historical thriller”

Good on historic detail and interesting insight into the period. Very good on the atmosphere and environment, the filth and squalor. Intriguing and a good page turner, even if at times the action is a little too much...leaving one to ask, how did they get away? But I am looking forward to the third of the trilogy.
