Oregon State Trooper/Fish and Wildlife service Gabriel Hawke is enjoying some river duty when he finds himself enmeshed in cold cases that turn into additional current cases but are all interconnected. The whole thing is a mess that just keeps getting worse. The good thing about it all is that it has Hawke rejoining his father's family and others at the dancing. The descriptions of the wilderness and insights into the well developed characters (including Hawke's animal assistants) are every bit as engaging and researched as the intricate plot. Love this series and highly value Larry Gorman's narrations.
