I think without doubt this is the best Campion so far. It’s a mystery, murder, spy story and a war story and to top it off a love affair between Lugg and his pig. Campion doesn’t exactly shine in this but he does seem to assist the police unnecessarily on his first leave in four years of the war. A little unfair for anyone. It’s a very good story and excellently written I highly recommend it. Brilliant.
