Reviews: Come Again (29)
“Entertaining and clever”

This is a really good read. Sometimes you might think that celebrities and tv comedians are just riding on their fame and get their novels published even if they have very little talent for writing. Believe me, Robert Webb is not one of those. This is a witty time-slip novel that crosses several genres. It offers many surprises and whilst being an easy read, there is plenty to admire in Webb's prose and dialogue. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
“I recommend this funny book.”

Come Again appealed to me as a middle aged woman, but I also loved the time traveling (really) bits back to university life, which were totally reminiscent of my youth. It made me laugh (a lot) cry (ditto) and I cheered on our heroine Kate in her quest to save her husband and to beat a gang of Russian gangsters. (Again, really!) This book is mad, but good mad. I would definitely recommend it, for men and women of all ages. It would also make a really good film. Thank you to #NetGalley, the publishers and the author Robert Webb for the opportunity to review #ComeAgain
“Awesome book!”

Wow, this is an awesome book and I loved it very much! I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was amazing. She was so funny and I loved the way she changed her voice to suit each of the characters. The story is about a middle aged woman called Kate who is feeling depressed because her husband Luke died from cancer. She has a dream where she goes back in time to see him when they were both teenagers and she helps him in an unexpected way. When she wakes up from the dream she has to deal with a crazy situation at her work which involves a lot of action and fun. In the end, Kate is not depressed anymore and she finds happiness with a certain someone. I really loved this book and I found it heartwarming, funny, happy, sad, eccentric and everything in between. It would make a really fantastic movie. I highly recommend this book and I am so happy to have found a new author, who is very talented.
“Hilarious, moving and thought-provoking!”

On the surface this is the story of a widow who gets a chance to save her husband, but this astonishing debut novel from Robert Webb has so much more going on! I don't want to give the plot away, but at various times I was angry at characters, laughing out loud, looking up the Black Shirts/fascist movement on Wikipedia, laughing again, gasping at fast-paced action scenes and then getting teary at genuinely moving moments. I really hope Robert Webb has more fiction to write because this first attempt is absolutely stunning!
“This book is forever in the back of my mind”

I read 'Come Again' a year ago, I still think about it to this today so it's about time I write a review. Webb's level of detail and description make for such an easy world to immerse yourself into. It's a comfy, easy read with a few "oh? OH!" moments, heavily splattered with just the right amount of British humour only Webb could supply. I was left with a warm feeling upon finishing the book, and reminisced on my own time at university. And if I, like Kate, would do anything differently given the chance.
