Reviews: Cold Fire (2)
“Brilliantly scary!”
(Paperback)

Dean Koontz always manages to write about monsters, demons and aliens - subjects that could descend into the ludicrous - without ever slipping from scary to silly. He manipulates all the most basic and primal of human fears throughout his stories at a breathtaking pace, with plenty of plot twists to keep the reader on their toes. This is one of his best.

Generic author review. Star rating reflects opinion of books. I went through a period of reading koontz's novels, really because my brother loved him and passed them on to me. Hmmm. Some were decent. Most were average. The writing was okay but the author rarely gripped me. There were some good thrillers but his horror books left me cold. I generally didn't think the plots were that good and some seemed to similar to others. However I'm not a great fan of horror so take my opinion with a pinch of salt really. I'm aware he is a popular author so make your mind up is my advice.
