Reviews: Cold Bones (2)
“Gruesome but gripping”
(Hardback)
Another cracking McAvoy novel. This time based around the fishing industry in Hull . One thing Mr Mark does extremely well is writing superb descriptions of desolate places . You can feel the poverty, dirt, cold and in this book the terror. It was interesting to see Aector working on his own away from his boss Trish Pharoah who is working in Iceland but I did miss the banter between them. It's a grim, somewhat gruesome story but immensely readable. I look forward to the next one
“Tense!”
(Hardback)
Thank you to the publishers for this early review copy.
I have read one of his books before (bk 5) so I was very happy to receive this one.
I still do really need to buy book 1 though and start at the beginning to build his character pictures a little more.
Good tense crime thriller which certainly keeps the pages turning and you guessing.
Look forward to meeting him in Waterstones Durham in March 2019!
