I bought this book back in the eighties after the movie version came out. It is of course different from the movie but I enjoyed the book. It was well written with a good story and well crafted characters. Cocoon is book one of a trilogy, something I didn't know about back in the eighties. I have never read the others but I'm not sure I would read them now.
