“Loved this book - a very honest and funny adventure story!”
(Paperback)
by Jazz Austin
I absolutely loved this book from start to finish. Elise tells her epic adventure story in a refreshingly honest way that made me both laugh out loud and feel quite reflective at the same time. Feeling extra excited about making the most of adventures close to home and the joys of meeting people along the way since reading this book!
“A Great Read”

This is a wonderful book.It is by turns funny, sad and inspirational.Elise takes you almost into her mind on a daily basis, charting her highs and lows with great candour. It is a tale of transformation, reinvention and the power of the human mind and what’s more it shows that an adventure is a possibility for everyone.I thoroughly recommend this book.
“Running's answer to Dolly Alderton”
(Paperback)
by Georgia Smith
I haven't finished a single book in 2021 until I read this. It's a hugely relatable and inspiring read. I am not a fan of running but couldn't put this book down. Elise takes you on a journey with her on the ups and downs of her run punctuated with witty anecdotes, hilarious stories and a generous dose of reality. I laughed out loud more times than I can count and I can't wait to hear more of her stories. Get this girl a podcast!
“`Down` in one!”
(Paperback)
by ann davies
Read in 1 sitting - a fabulous read. Funny, inspirational, poignant, educational and an unintentional self-help book. Loads of doses of common sense for all of us who are also muddling through! We need buckets of public sobbing and honesty in our lives. An amazingly brave feat in every sense. Going from occasional activity to an ultra athlete on the job is an outstanding achievement and then to write a witty warts`n all account of the journey, physical and mental is totally inspiring. Elise makes it seems easy to have a go at something - anything and not to let your head get in the way. I shivered along with Elise in the damp and the cold and the mud and felt enveloped in the startling hospitality of strangers. It made me feel that if my goal was to wild swim throughout the year and I only managed a few times in the height of summer that`s an achievement. But what an achievement for her. I don`t think this will be the last of Elise`s adventures we will get to hear about. I really hope not.
“This book found me at the right time”
(Paperback)
by Isabell
I ve got nothing to do with running but this book fascinated me completely. I found it just at the right time in my life and it did an amazing job keeping me motivated and also laughing. I know it’s mostly about running but to me it’s definitely a motivation book. I love how the author describes (sometimes) ironically her day and life choice. To me, it was just refreshing and motivation to read. I can highly recommend it.
