There's little in the book that wasn't available to anyone who took the time to access the CRU email archive that was made available to the public, but this is no bad thing. The authors are commendably even-handed when it comes to ascribing motive, letting the tone of the emails themselves speak to that. An excellent effort at drawing out the significant threads and conversations in the archive and placing them in a suitable (and fairly damning context) It could do with a little work on the formatting of direct email quotations, and black and white images make following references to various charts more difficult than it should be, but these are minor quibbles.
