“Read this now !”

by Bunmi Sowande
Wow - that was an amazing read !! I've been a fan of the Erika Foster books for a while now - but this is the best one by far. I could not put it down. The story takes us back to the murder of Erika's husband, which has been a running theme in all the other books. Brilliant page turner and I could not put it down until I finished it. Would strongly recommend.

Thanks to Robert and NetGalley for allowing me to read Chasing Shadows before the publication date. Having read a number of Robert’s previous books, I was pleased to receive the arc of the latest in the Erika Foster series and it does not disappoint. The tension is there from the first page. DCI Erika Foster is living with PTSD from the drugs raid in which a number of her colleagues, including her husband, were murdered. The pressure which she experiences in this book are understandable as she doubts (is made to doubt) herself. With so many people who have their own interests at heart, who can she trust? Three timelines are interwoven, giving the reader insight into the characters and their relationships, before the truth is revealed.

Detective Erika Foster #9 A collapsed ceiling. A dead body. What starts as a routine 000 call takes on an unexpected twist when Detective Chief Inspector Erika Foster arrives on the scene and discovers the body of a woman in an empty flat with all the DNA evidence scrubbed away. When forensics fine cocaine residue coating every surface of the ceiling, Erika calls in the drug dogs, who lead her to a mysterious parcel locker in the outside wall of the property. Chasing down the locker's owner leads Erika back where she never expected to be - staring into the eyes of Jerome Goodman. the drug dealer who murdered her husband Mark ten years ago. Wow. I couldn't read this book quickly enough, needing to find out all the relevant information. I was instantly pulled in and could not put the book down again until i had turned the last page. A routine 999 call finds a ceiling collapsed, a dead body that's found in a spotlessly clean flat, and no DNA or clues to be found. Then Erika comes face to face with a man from her past. Filled with secrets, lies and betrayals, this book has everything and more to keep your interest. Published 5th June 2025 I would like to thank #NetGalley #RavenStreetPublishing and the author #RobertBryndza for my ARC of #ChasingShadows in exchange for an honest review.
“Ninth in the series, and no slowing down. Brilliant writing!”
(Paperback)
by Rebecca Corcoran
The ninth Detective Erika Foster thriller in the series. I would advise to read the whole series as it’s brilliant, but more so with this book as it is heavily connected to Erika’s back story, from the death of her husband during a raid. This book is fast paced, every chapter is part of the story. Nothing is dragged out or added pointlessly, the mix of apprehension, and deep rooting for Erika and her team is ongoing for chapter one to the last. This series is not showing any sign of ending or slowing down which is great as I find Erika a truly great character.
“Loved it”

I couldn’t wait to read this book—it was brilliant. Finally getting the full story of what happened on that fateful day when Erica lost her husband after the police raid was gripping. She’s called to a house where a body has been found, and during the investigation, she comes face to face with the man who murdered her husband. He has a different name and background, and officially, he’s someone else. But Erica knows it’s him. When no one believes her, she launches her own investigation, determined to uncover the truth. This was such a compelling, well-paced story. I can’t praise it enough. Thank you to Netgalley and Raven Street Publishing for an ARC
